Fix Playback Controls: Full Screen, Skip Forward and BackUpdated 2 months ago
Having trouble with full screen, skipping, or getting back to Home while watching an episode? Here's how to fix the most common playback issues on phone and tablet.
Turn on Full Screen or Fix Screen Rotation
Tap the video once to bring up the playback controls.
Select the full screen icon in the bottom right corner of the video player.
Video still small after you pause? Exit the episode, reopen it, and try full screen again. If that doesn't work, fully close and reopen the app.
Watching by mirroring or casting to a TV? Black borders around the video are normal there — it's caused by the difference in aspect ratio between your device and the TV, not a bug. For casting-specific issues, see [Cast and AirPlay Troubleshooting].
Skip Forward or Rewind 10–15 Seconds
Tap the video once to bring up the playback controls.
Tap the skip-forward or skip-back icon.
Tip: You can also double-tap the right side of the screen to jump forward, or double-tap the left side to jump back — no need to bring up the controls first.
Don't see the skip buttons? Two things to try:
- Check the app store for an update — older app versions don't show these buttons.
In the meantime, drag the progress bar at the bottom of the screen to jump to where you want. Pause first if you want more precision.
Can't Get Back to Home After an Episode Ends
- Tap the video once to bring up the playback controls.
Look for the back arrow or close (X) button and tap it.
Buttons not responding? Force close the app completely and reopen it. Your progress will still be saved.
Still stuck?
If none of this fixes it, use the Give Feedback option in the app menu, or contact support — let them know your device type and what step didn't work, so they can dig in faster.
