Why We Ask for Your Date of BirthUpdated a few seconds ago

When creating an account in The Chosen app, you’ll notice we now ask for your Date of Birth. This is an important step to help us comply with privacy laws, app store policies, and to ensure we’re creating a safe experience for all our viewers.


When Will I Be Asked for My Birth Date?

You might see the Date of Birth screen:

  • During Sign-Up: when creating a new account.
  • When Logging Back In: if you’ve been logged out, force-quit the app, or after certain app updates.
  • When Updating Your Account: if our privacy policy has changed or new rules require us to collect your birth date.

How to Enter Your Date of Birth

Mobile App

  1. Open The Chosen app.
  2. On the sign-up or account update screen, look for the field labeled Date of Birth.
  3. Tap the date field. A date picker will appear.
  4. Enter your birth date in this format: mm / dd / yyyy.
  5. Tap Accept and continue.

Note: We only collect your birth year to help us comply with privacy laws. We don’t use this information for advertising or selling your data.


What Happens if I’m Too Young?

If you enter a birth date that does not meet our minimum age requirements:

  • You’ll see a message that says “Age Requirement Not Met.”
  • The screen will explain that you don’t meet the minimum age required to create an account.
  • You’ll be offered the option to Continue as Guest instead of signing up for an account.

Why Do You Need My Birth Year?

We ask for your birth year because:

  • Some countries have privacy laws requiring apps to collect age information.
  • App stores (like Apple’s App Store and Google Play) require age checks for certain content and features.
  • It helps keep The Chosen a safe and secure environment for all ages.

We’re committed to protecting your privacy and only use this information to ensure compliance and safety.
